I am adding a link to the right hand column of links. Look for Counterfeit Chic and check out their blog. It is very informational and has many direct links to industry information and groups who work to combat counterfeit fashions.

So Project Runway has come and gone and dare I say it….YAWN! this season lacked something could it be that since it’s the last season at Bravo the producers just didn’t give a dam anymore? This season was more of the drama between Kenley and the rest of the designers than the drama in the garments. Now who would’ve thought that( spoiler alert if u haven’t seen the finale!) Leanne was gonna win the whole thing?! I for sure thought Korto or Kenley would win it. Yes Leanne’s collection was pretty amazing how she did all the so called “petals” by Michael Kors but it was just TOO MUCH OF IT!!! Every single one of her garments had that detail. And I mean that did get pretty boring. I love the fact that she stuck to the same color palette and looked like a real designers collection if u ever go and browse through Marc Jacobs collection it’s the same thing. But didn’t Kenley almost get eliminated like in the first couple of challenges…hmm…talk about taking criticism like a pro and turning into something amazing and winning the whole thing…unlike someone else KENLEY! Now Kenley’s collection was beautiful no doubt full of color and always kept you alert, but like in many other challenges she got defensive when the judges told her that some of the garments shown looked like garments previously showed by other designers. Okay sweetie if you want to be in this business you gots to keep up with what ur competitors are putting out there, u don’t want to be the girl that has the great designs that remind you of someone else’s or make u think wait a minute ive seen this dress somewhere else.
Now moving on to Korto’s collection I mean it was absolutely fabulous I ❤ IT!!! It was full of color just like Kenley’s . you could really see her heritage in every single costume and like Nina said the garments did not look like a costume she did a good job. To me she was the winner of Project Runway but all in all im not the one making the decision right so that’s what I get 😀
Well I cant say that this season was my favorite like I said the producers dropped the ball on this one. They concentrated more on Kenley and her attitude and her whole drama show man is there any episode where that girl didn’t cry and say how hard she has had it all her life…uh hello ur not the only one sweetie! But oh well lets see if this show really gets moved to Lifetime and hopefully the next season is better than this one.
Until the next one,
Ur Blogging Gurl,

Ur Blogging Gurl,
so this semester i’m taking fashion collection design class and my God is that class a lot of work!! i hardly have time for anything else cuz if i spend all my time doing homework for this class i get behind in my other three classes so ive decided to let my hopefully faithful readers 😀 help me.
So for my project im suppose to create a collection from scratch even though im not a design major…im a merchandising major for those of ya’ll that dont know…..this class helps me understand what a designer has to go through before going to market and God bless their souls cuz its A LOT OF WORK!!! well anyway i was suppose to pick inspiration pictures and well from those pictures i chose the colors ill be using for my collection. I got that down now i need a name for my collection and the more and more i think about it i cannot come up with a unique name!! grr…so stressing so my four groups cuz we are only doing four groups thank God, are Spain, Greece, Venice, and Egypt and my type of customer is more of a young lady early 20’s to mid 30’s. She has her own business i havent decided what it is yet but she travels a lot, always attending parties and having lots of time for herself when she’s not in meetings kicking butt lol! Well my collection consists of nothing but day dresses to relax in, dresses presentable and professional for work, and cocktail dresses for events she would have to attend…pretty much my customer would be a kind of Paris Hilton type of girl only classy and with values hahahaha….With that in mind what do u guys think i should name my whole collection i have seriously gone completely blank i cannot come up with something original. Of course i thought of *Honey* but that name just doesnt go with the type of customer and designs in the collection….HELP!!! PLEASE!!!
until the next one…
Ur Blogging Gurl,
its been a while i know but hey im a busy busy girl what can i say lol jk ya’ll i know ive left you a bit abandoned but i couldnt come up with anything to write UNTIL today!! yay!
so for my retailing and clothing collection class we are suppose to read an article from WWD so i finally had time to pick an issue up today although its an oldie it was definitely a goodie 🙂
So the article consisted of people buying and importing fake handbags, shoes, jewelry, etc. I know for sure most of you have heard, read, or maybe even seen one of these infamous products. Its sad but true. After all the designers do to make sure their merchandise is unique and one of a kind there are still people who cant respect that. So sad…so according to this article this “business” makes up billions of dollars a year!! thats right people billions!!! although they are now lawsuits and laws that have been set up to stop this people are still finding new and sneakier ways to import them into the streets of NYC and other major retail cities. Just the other day at work i was telling one of my co-workers about this because she is guilty of buying one of these products. I work at a Macy’s and she was telling me that once about a year and half ago they had a particular situation where a customer returned a fake handbag to the store. the sales associate not paying attention took the handbag back without inspecting the bag to her the handbag looked “real”.
This is one of the many competitors designers have to deal with in this industry. I mean fighting each other to have the “it” product each season or being the hot new label is hard enough now they have to deal with knockoff…not only is it damaging their image but also their profit.
But i guess in a society where pretty much everything is fake in a person from hair, eyes, nails, breasts, butts yes those are becoming more and more popular i guess this is what we could expect.
well unitl the next one…
